Obituary of Ivy MacFarlane
Ivy Jean MacFarlane, age 86 years, Westville passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 9, 2014 at home of her daughter and son-in- law, Donna and Seymour Dixon with her family and little dog, Penny at her side.
Born in Malay Falls, she was a daughter of the late Orestuis and Alveretta (MacDonald) Russell.
Ivy was an associate member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 34. She was an avid dart player and a great baker and later in life took up quilting. Her family was always very dear to her, especially her children, grand children and great grand children.
She will be sadly missed by her daughters, Donna Dixon (Seymour), Sheryl Snell (Barry), Joyce O’Neil (Nelson), all of Westville; Christa Church (Richard), Windsor; daughters-in-law Kathy MacFarlane, Ontario; Audrey Holland, Stellarton; grand children, Kim; Clint, Amie, Kerri and Darren; Sheldon and Michael; Morgan and Jordon, Sherry-Ann and Fraser; great grand children, Piper, Brennan, Riley, Keely, Sydney and Ashton; sisters Phyllis Martin and Clarice Cruickshank and brother, Kenneth Russel (Myrna), Havre Boucher.
She was predeceased by her husband, Clarence "Spankie" MacFarlane and sons David and Graham; infant daughter Ivy Jean; sisters, Lillian Russell, Carol Oxner, Wilma Cruickshank, Helen MacLean, Wanda Jack and brothers, Lloyd, Graham, Elmer, Clyde and Earl Russell.
Mrs. MacFarlane rested at Eagles Funeral Home, Westville with visiting on Thursday. Her funeral service was held 2 o’clock Friday September 12 at Eagles Funeral Chapel, Westville with the Rev. Bonnie Wynn officiating. Interment was in Heatherdale Memorial Gardens. Donations in her memory may be made to the S.P.C.A.
