Obituary of Garfield Marshall

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of our brother, Garfield Alexander Marshall, age 74, of Campbell’s Road, Westville, who passed away on Thursday, April 10, 2014 in Cumberland Reg. Hospital, Amherst. Born in New Glasgow, he was a son of the late Alex and Jean (Murrell) Marshall. Garfield was a baker by trade, working for many years at Boyd’s Bakery, and later at Gennoe’s Bakery until retirement. For the past few years, he resided at Four Seasons Home, Oxford. Garfield is survived by a daughter Melissa, and grandchildren, Christopher, Jessie, and Clayton, Ontario; sisters, Enid Teed, Westville; Ramona Hardy, Ont.; Verna Baddow, Ont.; Barbara Fraser (Sonny), P.E.I.; brothers, Alex “Abby” (Genesta), Deep Brook; and Allen (Barbie), Ont. ; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers, Vernon , Thomas “Buddy” and Dennis; and sister Brenda Hendsbee-Manuel. Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation or funeral service. Grave side service will be held at a later date at Heatherdale Memorial Gardens, Sylvester. Services are under the direction of Eagles Funeral Home, Westville. www.eaglesfuneralhome.ca
