Obituary of Tena MacDonald
For 85 years the world has been blessed by Alma Christena McDonald or Tena for those who knew her. She passed away on May 8th, 2012 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.
Born in Westville, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Evelyn (Osborne) MacPherson.
Tena’s family always came first; however, she also reached out to others. Her talents for knitting, crocheting, quilting, sewing, and doing sewing alterations were appreciated by many people.
She will be sadly missed by daughters; Andrella Hodder (Fred), Westville and children, Kelly, Shannon and Patti; Roberta MacKean (Billie), Lochbroom and children, Yvonne, Cheryl, Stacey, Tara, and Billie; Rebecca, Truro; son Michael (Joyce), Westville and children, Michael, Michelle, and Mathew; and 12 great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by husband, Michael in 2009. She was the last remaining member of her immediate family having been predeceased by sisters, Mollie Marcott, Alice Palmer, and Margaret MacMillian; and brothers, James, Daniel, and Duncan.
Visitations will be held on Thursday 2–4 and 7–9 p.m. at Eagles Funeral Home, Westville. Her funeral will be held on Friday, May 11, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. from the Eagles Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Peter Armstrong officiating. Burial will be in St. Bees’ Cemetery, Westville. Family flowers only. Donations in her memory may be made to St. Bees’ Anglican Church or a charity of one’s choice.
