Obituary of Shirley Bonnar

Shirley Helen Marie Bonnar, 86, passed away at home on December 8, 2024.  Shirley was born in Pleasant Valley, Pictou County. She was the daughter of the late Seymour and Irene (Barry) Joudrey.

Shirley was a resident of Westville most of her life. She worked for many years at the local Scotiabank. She enjoyed playing cards and belonged to different card clubs over the years. She spent many summers at the campground, which she loved. Shirley's greatest joy was her family, her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Shirley is survived by her children, Doug (Joyce) Facey; Michael Facey (Kevin Armstrong); Amanda Facey (Sherman Jackson); grandchildren  Jasmine (Guy), Kyle (Ocean); great-grandchildren Hudson and Aubrey; and sister-in-law Yvonne Joudrey.

Shirley was predeceased by brothers Willard, Barry and Bill Joudrey, sister Kathleen “Kay” Hale.

Family flowers only. Donations may be made to Crohn's and Colitis Canada or Canadian Wildlife Federation.

Visitation will be held at Eagles Funeral Home, Westville from 1:00 - 3:00pm on Friday, December 13. A private family burial will take place at St. Bee’s Cemetery.
