Obituary of Helen Sherri MacDonald

Helen Sherri MacDonald (Alma) October 27th 1950 – Sept 5th 2024

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our mother.

She was the daughter of James and Gwen Dalling.

Mom devoted herself to her family, to her husband Scott R MacDonald and especially to us boys, with her constant love and encouragement, she always reminded us how proud she was.

Mom loved being a grandmother to her three grandchildren, each of them brought much joy and happiness to her. Mom also loved to be known as "FA" (favorite Aunt) from niece Bobi and nephew Ben MacDonald.

After graduating from West Pictou District High, Mom spent her professional life working for MTT/Bell Aliant where she worked in Operator Services for 34yrs. Working alongside many, that became very close friends/family.

Mom was a very social person who enjoyed spending time with friends and family. Attending charity BBQ’s, church suppers, dances, playing cards with her card group, and of course bowling. Often you could hear her laugh over the crowd before you actually spotted her.

She enjoyed being outside watching the birds and reading a book or busy planting and puttering in her garden. Mom also enjoyed baking, known for her butterscotch pies.

Mom is survived by son; Scott M MacDonald(Sherry) grandchildren Shayla, Jessica, and Scott MacDonald, Alma; son B. Ashley MacDonald(Carl Cox) Truro; her brother Tim Dalling(Janet)New Glasgow; niece and nephew ; Jamie Gwen and Jay Dalling

Mom was predeceased by her husband Scott R MacDonald, grandparents; Colburn and Helen Nichols her father James Dalling her Mother Gwen Dalling(Cliff Blackwood) brother Blaine Nichols.

Thanks are extended to her wonderful palliative care team Dr. Smith and Cheryl Graham and support of the Colchester VON.

We'd also like to acknowledge moms sister in law Marie McCullough for her unwavering love and support. Carl for opening up our home to have mom here with us throughout her battle with cancer, and daughter in law Sherry for her care and compassion.

Mom will be truly missed by all her family and friends . We have been so blessed to be able to love you and the privilege to call you our mother. Fly high with the Angels.

Cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation upon her request. A private graveside service will be held at a later date at Heatherdale Memorial Gardens.
