Obituary of Steven MacDonald
John Steven MacDonald, age 52, New Glasgow passed away on December 29th of heart attack with his wife Sonya at his side.
Steven was born in New Glasgow, and was born the son of Jack and Lynda (Grosvold) MacDonald. He was the youngest of 2 children.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Sonya (Sanford) MacDonald and 2 children Savannah (Mitchell MacLaren) and Sydney (Lauren Dubie); sister Margie Crowell (Norman); and mother and father in law Glenda and Leo Lamey; and brother in law David Jeffrey Sanford.
It is with unfathomable sadness and grief that the family announce his passing. He was a true friend, doting and adoring husband, amazing father, but most of all a good person.
Steve loved the outdoors, camping, canoeing with friends and fellow bushcraft chums. He was a talented musician, saxophone, bass guitar, keyboards, etc.
He spent his time enjoying video games, reading, meeting new people, but his primary joy was spending time with Sonya, Savannah, Sydney, and Chachi. Traveling south and exploring other places was a favourite.
A successful Realtor over the last decade, Steven was a respected and pleasant colleague. He enjoyed his job immensely and often said how lucky he felt to play such a significant role in a family’s choice to either buy or sell a property. Sonya and Steve were a great dream team in assisting their clients. Steve will be greatly missed in the industry.
The family will receive visitors on Thursday from 1-4 p.m at Eagles Funeral Home for all who would like to remember him, say a few words, or simply say hello to the family in this difficult time.
There will also be a party for Steve, a Celebration of Life at the White Tail, Westville at 7 p.m. Thursday. He always said that he would never want a stiff crowd at any type of gathering. Steve was a force, a force full of love and compassion - we will celebrate him and love him forever.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Celebration of life fund for Steven MacDonald.
