I have fond memories of Mable as Ashley's Mom, always inviting us kids over to play, and hosting fun birthday parties. She was also a fun aerobics instructor, and always willing to contribute. All of the Lourdes kids send their love.
My sympathy to Bob, Ashley and all who loved Mable. May memories bring you comfort.

Dear Bob, Ashley, David and family,
I met Mable in the early eighties when we both taught fitness at the Y. Then we both had daughters named Ashley. We ran into each other periodically over the years and always had a great chat and catch-up. Saw her a little more than a year ago at the Y and it was just like we saw each other every day. Mable was such a happy and giving person. I will remember her fondly. I had no idea she wasn’t well. My heart goes out to all of you. Mable will always be close to your hearts. Sincere sympathy. Deepest Sympathy and Condolence
My heart felt sorrow goes out to Bob, Ashley, and grandson David.
And to all her closest family members
I first met Mable when we entered grade 7 at West Pictou
Mable knew many people and helped them and many more in countless ways. Her Love of health and Fitness inspired those of any age, myself included. you see I wasn't the most athletic person in the world by any means or at all. She motivated me to go to the gym and take her intense exercise classes, which she always made fun and added some competition with yourself and the rest of the class. She taught me how to do the splits and that sure came in handy throughout the years Her infectious laugh and enthusiasm for life will always be remembered. All the moments and memories she made special for me and my family will never be forgotten. Pictures taken on our front lawn. The many pictures taken with funny shaped glasses and hats, she always had a bag filled with things, fun things. She made our high school reunions fun and with the pictures to remember them by, the many many pictures. The art of capturing that moment in front of the lens was one of her utmost talents in my eye. She taught me that you should know your camera inside out no matter what camera you have and focus really focus, and focus on our lives, really focus on helping others, all the while making it fun. She always thought of others even when she was so sick. She made a birthday cake for me,left candles and all outside on the deck all the while social distancing. You see she did all that on the same day as her grandson's birthday while celebrating that, where our birthdays are on the same day. A thoughtful, compassionate, and giving soul. I had just gotten out of the hospital. Well years ago she had given me the title
" Martha Stewart " of Loch Broom where actually she was and deserved the title. You will be missed dearly. We will laugh together again without pain some day. See you again my Friend.

How does one describe 35 + years of memories for my best friend Mable? We do have different personalities but we are also the same and we complimented each other. Mable was one of a kind and a big personality. The most loving heart of anyone I have ever known. Many received her gifts of food and she was famous for shortbread hearts. She loved to dress in costume and have the character, like Edith, deliver surprises to so many people. I had the pleasure of being with her when she dropped off Secret Santa parcels to many over the years. We had lively debates over the years on almost all subjects. The beauty of Mable is that it is ok to think differently, be different and still remain the same. Bob and Ashley were her life and grandson David was her heartsong. We would talk for hours and say nothing important and everything in one conversation.. The world was so blessed to have Mable on this earth and I was blessed to have her as my friend. You will be missed by so many. You have your wings my friend, not the dress up kind( as she has done in the past) but those given by God to the best there is.I will miss you so much Mable but I will always remember the lessons I have learnt from you.and the compassion you had for everyone.. Don't stir up too much mischief in heaven Mable or wait until I get there so we can do it together. Love your friend ,Miss Valerie, and Reg to.

Mable and I were fitness instructors at the Pictou County Y in the 1980’s and 90’s. In the fall of 1988, we produced and co-led a Christmas season aerobics class we dubbed the “Turkey Workout” composed of seasonal music, prizes, and refreshments. It was a huge success attracting 105 participants.
Dear Bob, Ashley and family. We are sending our deepest condolences your way on the untimely loss of your beloved wife, mother, and nanna. Mable was so special to so many and her sudden passing will leave a huge hole in the hearts of many. How fortunate are we all to have been blessed by her presence on our life’s journeys together.

My thoughts and prayers are with you Bob and your daughter, Ashley and family at this very sad time. I knew Mabel through my sister Lynn at West Pictou. Mabel was the athlete and I was always in awe of her especially when she played basketball. She always had a big smile on her face and had the best laugh.
In recent years she attended some of my sister Karen’s fashion shows in Truro. There again was her great smile and laugh. She always came with her camera and took lots of pictures and sometimes we protested but were always glad to see the photos later and especially one in particular. Thank you ever so much for that picture, Mabel.
You will be missed so much by so many! Hugs to all. Teri

Dear Bob, Ashley and family, we are shocked to read of Mabel's passing. She was one of the first people I met when we moved back home to Pictou County. She met me with such a joyful spirit, telling me about her precious grandson, David. She was bursting with pride. She and I walked every morning at 5:30 for a whole year. Once I slept in and heard, “Pssst!” below my bedroom window. When I arrived outside she told me she wasn’t having a slacker for a walking buddy followed by her infectious laugh. She was truly one of a kind...the first to celebrate her neighbour's milestones with posters and balloons. She was a beautiful baker and so happy to share her delicious goods. Mabel will be remembered as a loving and generous dear heart.
Our deepest condolences, Sharon and Roy Doggett
