I spent a few years supporting clients that used LORDA regularly. I remember how proud he was of the evaporator for the maple syrup production. I always looked forward to seeing Dave at the park, hearing great stories, watching him tinker with the equipment and mentor volunteers. He was a great man.

The Colchester Stroke Club has for 30 years made an annual trek to the ol' fishing ponds at LORDA park. This beautiful 300 acre park of woods, rivers, ponds, and trails donated by the Leese family was a vision of Dave Leese. He and his father spent countless hours, time and money on their dream of opening a natural haven allowing seniors and those with physical or mental disabilities to enjoy the outdoors in a way that brought them joy: free of charge! His passion for giving was also his Joy. We wish to express our condolences on the loss of such a loving and special man to his family, with our thanks and appreciation for his life and contributions to our group and to Nova Scotia.

Dictionary Definition: A friend is someone that you share close affection with. You share kindness, sympathy, empathy, compassion, loyalty, fun, and probably some common beliefs and values. Since I first met Dave in 1976, when I was called to investigate a break in at the camp, we shared all of the above. Dave was all of that and more to me. He is a great man and I truly will miss him.
To the entire Leese family, especially Wanda and David, you have a great father and always will. Rest is Peace!

Wanda, David and families. I’m so sorry to hear of your fathers passing. I loved your dad. He was so incredibly good to me when I lived next door. He checked on me at least twice a day, he was like a private security guard. He was like that for the whole community in fact. Everyone felt safe with your dad watching over us. I never would have been able to stay there as long as I did without all the help and kindness your father gave to me. I am so fortunate that I got to know him. He was a wonderful man and will be greatly missed. Sending you all my sincere condolences.

To all the family. We are so sorry for your
loss . Condolences to you all . We met Dave a few years ago when our daughter lived up in Landsdowne, he was so good to her , visiting her and always watching out for her . We never had to worry about her being snow bound because Dave always had her plowed out , he took great care of her , we’ll always be great full to him for that !
Hugs to you all .
