Obituary of Marilyn Cameron

In deeply heartfelt and loving memory of Marion (Marilyn) Louise Cameron. It is with profound unrelenting sadness and sorrow that we announce the passing away of our sweet, kind and gentle-hearted mom. She was a proud and very much-loved mother, grand-mother, sister, aunt and friend. Marilyn Cameron of Westville, N.S. passed away suddenly in the Aberdeen Hospital on Mother’s Day; Sunday, May 10, 2020. Born on March 7, 1948 in New Glasgow, she was the youngest child and daughter of the late Francis and Marion (MacKenzie) MacIntosh. Mom was retired from her work as a much-valued and adored personal home care worker and hair dresser. Marilyn was a beautiful spirit and was loved by everyone who knew her. She made her life about her relationships. It was the family and friends in her life that mattered the most to her and that she held most dear to her heart. She was a sensitive, kind, and lovely person and enjoyed her many good times with family and friends. Marilyn loved to dance and to have get-togethers. She had a great sense of humour and loved a good laugh. Above all, she had a pure, genuine and caring heart. She loved her three children and her five grandsons with all of her being and she got such joy being both a mom and a nanny. She had a joyous passion for adventure and loved to travel. Her many adventures brought her to several countries and she often recounted fun stories of her trips to every province across Canada, to several places along the west coast of the United States and to the tropical sunshine and beautiful sandy beaches of the Mayan Riviera in Mexico. She loved animals, nature and being outdoors and filled her life with amazing experiences camping, fishing, going on road-trips and sight-seeing. She had even started planning for her next big trip to Hawaii which she was so excited about. We hope that her soul stopped by there on her way to Heaven. Our hearts are broken for losing her and she will be missed so much by all that loved her. Marilyn is survived by her children: Barbie Casey (Mark), Steven Cameron (Ian) & Jamie Marshall (Mireille); her grandchildren: Gage, Luke & Dustin Casey, Caleb & Nicholas Marshall; her brother: Sandy MacIntosh (Marion) and her many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister Betty Ramsey and brothers Vernon & Francis MacIntosh. The greatest honour we can give Marilyn is to love more, laugh often and hold on to those dear to us while they are still with us. She would tell you to be a good person, have grace and take time to enjoy life and the people and places that are blessings in yours now. A public funeral service will be held on August 29, at Eagles Funeral Chapel, Westville. Please call 902-396-4144 for reservations.
